Montgomery, AL. – Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels (D-Madison) delivered a strong and forward-looking response to Governor Kay Ivey’s State of the State speech that she delivered January 11, 2022 to both chambers of the Alabama Legislature.
Early in his remarks, Rep. Daniels commented, “Regardless of the election cycle, it’s time to rise above petty and divisive partisanship and, instead, focus on legislation that benefits everyone in Alabama. That’s why we are laser-focused on policies that are pro-growth, pro-innovation, and pro-Alabama.”
Rep. Daniels noted that the recently released Alabama House Republican Legislative Agenda entitled, “Standing Tall for Alabama” appeared to focus more on divisive and controversial issues as opposed to offering “…a cohesive plan to move Alabama forward and to manifest our unlimited potential.”
The House Democratic Response highlighted specific legislation and policy initiatives championed by the Alabama House Democratic Caucus in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public safety.
According to Rep. Daniels, the message is clear, “We are pro-growth, pro-innovation, and most importantly, pro-Alabama. We believe these are the best solutions for the most important issues facing Alabama. And when we start building consensus, we’re unstoppable.”
The Alabama House Democratic Caucus will be presenting its 2022 Legislative Agenda: “Pro-Growth * Pro-Innovation * Pro-Alabama” on Wednesday, January 11, 2022 at 1PM CST in the State House Press Room in Montgomery, AL.
