Montgomery, AL– Today, the Alabama House Democratic Caucus presented, “Working Together. Achieving Results”, the 2021 Alabama House Democrats legislative agenda. The event was live-streamed via Zoom and the Alabama House Democratic Caucus website, www.alabamademcaucus.com , features key updates with more specific details and resources for constituents.

This year’s theme acknowledges the life-changing consequences and impact of COVID-19 on Alabama and the genuine need for collaborative, common-sense solutions for the many issues facing our state.

According to House Democrats, “The message from communities across this state has been uncomplicated and unchanging. From North Alabama to counties along the Gulf Coast, and all points east and west, the refrain is clear- “We are in this together.”

The Alabama House Democratic Platform prioritizes beating COVID-19, ensuring access to affordable health care, advancing education, revitalizing the economy, reforming the criminal justice system, championing equity and social justice, and defending voters’ access to the polls. Alabama House Democrats remain committed to achieving many of the ambitious policy priorities that they have advocated for in the past, such as expanding Medicaid for working families and innovative ideas for generating much-needed revenue for education and other critical services that are finally being embraced and advanced by majority party members.

Rep. Adline Clarke (D-Mobile), Policy Committee Chair, opened the presentation saying, “Today, there’s no clever PR, no polished theme, just a simple, solid plan of action for Alabama House Democrats: “Working Together. Achieving Results.” Alabama House Democrats understand and want to emphasize the value of constructive collaboration and the urgent need for tangible results in these tough times.
